Several people are suffering from the most pressing health problem and that is insomnia. As of the past year in 2012, the studies show that for many Americans, there are nearly a quarter of adults with a minimum of fifteen-percent suffering from severe insomnia which is causing more depression, hypertension and diabetes in citizens of the United States.
While the numbers speak for themselves, there is a proven medication called Ambien Cr that is helping people with sleep disorders. Ambien Cr is a prescription sleeping medication (with zolpidem tarate) which is the extended release ingredients. Additionally, the medicine is licensed to treat insomnia; from the Food and Drug Association (FDA). The medication is a long lasting and slow released throughout the night allowing people to stay asleep all night long instead of waking up throughout the night.
Ambien CR, proven by the FDA to be effective in treating several sleep difficulties is in a class of medications, which is a sedative and hypnotics, or in simple terms sleep aid. Ambien extended release is available in different strengths and prescribed to take immediately at bedtime.
As with any prescription drugs there's a chance of side effects and some of these will go away or not be bothersome at all. For example, while you are taking this medication you may experience a headache and dizziness depending on the dosage and how long someone taken the medication. Clinical studies had proven through comparison of people whom did not use Ambien CR to those who did take the drug proving the ones whom took it were able to fall asleep faster than the others were who did not try the medicine.
The doctors normally prescribe for the patients to take the medicine with a glass of water, not with food, and never after a meal as food can slow down the effects of the medication. This is true for other medications as well. Take only on an empty stomach and with a glass of water. Once you have taken the medication you should be in bed and ready to sleep do not drive your vehicle under any circumstances, nor take Ambien for other medical conditions not prescribed. Follow the doctor's orders while taking the medication including going to bed at an earlier time so that you may sleep the effects of the medication off.
